Repatriation

Repatriation involves the transportation of a loved one from the country where they passed away to the country in which they wish to be buried.

When someone dies abroad, particularly if the death was sudden or unexpected, it can be difficult to know how to deal with the practical matters that need to be addressed. Every country has its own laws and regulations with regards the formalities to be followed when someone dies.

Deery’s Funeral Directors will appoint a local funeral director in the country where the death as taken place and make all the appropriate arrangements. We will liaise with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Irish embassy as well as organising for the flights and all necessary documentation to be completed.
